Who Am I?
Going down the Path of Life we lose focus on what is important.
The eyes become dusty, the mind cloudy, and the body breaks down. What we truly find most precious, the peace we innately knew as a child, becomes elusive, illusionary, and we seem to forget who we are... the mind constructs a world placing values on external things to create an identity.
But this is NOT the Real YOU.
This is only a perception, an image created by the Mind to create an identity for the Self.
If you identify as a man, woman, gay, straight, black, white, short, tall, fat, thin, etc. You are identifying as your physical body. All descriptions, labels, adjectives used to identify the physical body (if this is how you speak of your self), to your mind or another human.
THIS IS NOT YOU.
If you identify as a professor, scientist, artist, teacher, doctor, (anything having to do with the mind/brain/intellect),
you are identifying with your Mind/Brain.
THIS IS NOT YOU.
YOU are behind these identities.
You are the Seer/the Observer of the Body & the Mind. But you are not the temple or the computer.
YOU observe those 2 things creating an identity in the World.
YOU are so much more.
When we back away/withdrawal from identifying with the Mind/Body we begin to really SEE the Magic/the Human in ALL of us.
We are more the same than we are different.
The Reflection in the Mirror is the Mind creating an identity for the Seer to observe in the world.
However if the mirror is cracked or warped, the image is cracked and/or warped.
This is why the reflection in the World is the Object
(and the OBJECT is a REMINDER of the GOAL, BUT it is NOT the GOAL.)
The Object is a reminder that you are not the image, you are so much more than the reflection...
you just have to remember.
YOU, (The Observer/The Knower) can always see the Mind & Body acting "in front" of "You".
This is how you know you are so much more than the Mind/Body that is physically represented in the World.
The Janitor, the Noble Prize Winner, Oprah, a human on death row, Jeff Bezos, a homeless man on the street, etc...
All the same. Only perspective.
This is why Yoga doesn't try to change the external world, it changes our perception of the external world.
As you begin to see the World differently, your perspective shifts, your attitude, behavior, & your way of being in the world shifts.
Application of Yoga is to see the fluctuations of the Mind & the Physical Body exactly for what they are.
NOT you.
Only the vehicle.
As you identify less as the external body and less as your accolades and awards in your mind, you soften to the world.
Your experience in the world changes because you've changed how you see the World.
THIS is the start.
Now with every breath,
Start Again.
YOU/The Oneness/The Energy of YOU, is greater than the One in the World.
